Mental Health First Aid Training

Mental Health First Aid Training –  April 2015

Sacramento County Division of Behavioral Health is proud to offer a two-day 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Courses FREE to the public.

This highly interactive course is basic in design to help inform the general public about mental health concerns and ways to support others in our community.

You will learn:

> The prevalence of mental illness in the U.S. and their emotional and economic cost.
> The potential warning signs and risk factors for depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
> A 5-step action plan to help an individual in crisis connect to professional care and other support strategies.
> Resources in our community available to help someone with a mental health concern.

We are currently taking registration for the following two-day courses:

Adult Mental Health First Aid
Date: April 23rd and 24th
Time: 9:00am – 2:30 pm (both days)
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Date: April 2nd and 3rd
Time: 9:00am – 2:30 pm (both days)

If you are interested in registering for either of these classes please send an email to MHFA@saccounty.net and indicate which session you would like to register for.

Class sizes are limited to 25 and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once classes have been filled you will be placed on a list to be notified of upcoming training opportunities.
