A Course by Nurses in Integrative Healing Arts
INTEGRATIVE HEALING ARTS PROGRAM: LEVEL 1
Through hands on experience, lecture and dialogue, you will learn the principles of these healing therapies to develop skills which provide you more tools to care for your patients.
This program is founded upon the importance of cultivating self care practices that reduce stress to support health and well being. This will become the foundation for providing an integrative approach to caring for your patients and their families to improve quality safety and patient’s experience of care.
Why Take This Course in Integrative Healing Arts?
The health care profession is going through a major transformation as it redefines itself through holistic principles that support the care of the whole person; body, mind and soul. Research has shown an integrative approach, clinical care and healing practices leads to better clinical outcomes, is more cost effective with better patient satisfaction.
By enhancing your understanding of, mind/body therapies and the physiology of the relaxation response, you will be able to optimize patient contacts while promoting comfort. You will learn how to effectively use simple imagery, the power of words, work with the breath, essential oils, gentle touch, and energy flow patterns through the power of presence for yourself and your patients.
This 30 hour course includes 5 six hour classes, 6 hours of individual practice and 3 written case studies.

Session 1 – Friday, February 26, 2016
⋅ Self-care techniques, introduction to energy anatomy, essential oils, acupressure and therapeutic touch
Session 2 – Wednesday, March 9, 2016
⋅ Introduction to imagery and hand reflexology and massage
Session 3 – Wednesday, March 23, 2016
⋅ Introduction to principles of Reiki Therapy, the ancient anatomy of the chakras with practicum of all modalities
Session 4 – Thursday, March 31, 2016
⋅ Explore the power of belief/placebo, practicum, case studies
Session 5 – Thursday, April 14, 2016
⋅ Explore the science of neurobiology and Psychoneuroimmunolgy, practicum and case studies
All sessions begin promptly
at 9am and end at 4pm.
